New Way into China? Facebook Secretly Launched a Mobile app in China



According to the report of New York Times, Facebook has secretly launched a mobile app in China market. And together with Google is began to provide free translation App in China, seems the huge Chinese market is still the heat pot of top technology companies in the world.

The news was first reported by The New York Times, Facebook had ready to launch a photo sharing app on May, which named Colorful Balloons, but there is no trace of Facebook name, rather than the name of Youge LLC.

"Colorful Balloons can group users' phone pictures and videos based on time, locations and characters. It can help you create albums and share them with friends and family," the description reads. The last update of this app was on July 20.

Thought Facebook have been always trying to land in China, it always fails at the end just as other companies due to the internet policy of Chinese government.

The Chinese users could not use Facebook since in 2009, and Instagram which is owned by Facebook was not available in 2014, what more, another chat application WhatsApp was hard to post photos or videos, too on last month.


In addition to Facebook, apps including Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter and Google search engine are banned from the country.

Whatever how hard of road is, that it hasn't stopped American tech giants from eying a piece of China's massive market.
That is, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook has never lose hope to bring its social network into China, he has even learned the Chinese and Mandarin, and communicated several times with students.

There is no certain evident show Colorful Balloons is owned by Facebook, and as Facebook, it doesn't explicitly confirm or deny its involvement in Colorful Balloons. "We have long said that we are interested in China, and are spending time understanding and learning more about the country in different ways," a spokesperson says.
